A Lovely Grade II listed building , That was built in the reign of King George IV (1762-1830). Recently restored to a very high standard. Comfortably furnished bedrooms,with cast iron beds and a choice of either en-suite or private facilities . All rooms have T.V. tea and coffee,hairdryers, irons and ironing board. Situated on the edge of Old Portsmouth close to the beach.All local attractions are within easy walking distance including the Gunwharf Quays complex and the Historic Dockyard.

Portsmouth is an island city on the coast of Southern England and because of its sheltered location (The Isle of Wight protects it from the winds of the South and Portsdown hill protects it from the North) the weather is milder than many other parts of England. The average daily temperature is 20°C during the summer months, falling to 12°C in winter. Portsmouth has daily Ferry crossings to Europe, France, Spain, Jersey and Guernsey. Crossings to the Isle of Wight are every 30 minutes or so depending on how you wish to travel. The Car ferry runs every 30 minutes, the Catamaran runs every 20 minutes and the Hovercraft runs every 15 minutes. The Solent has a reputation as one of the Worlds most popular sailing venues. During August each year you can watch yachts racing during Cowes week.The 4 miles of sea front at Southsea is a great vantage point to see the busy Solent.
With its Historic Ships, Castles, Forts and Museums, you can explore the heritage of Maritime England. At Portsmouth's Royal Dockyard (home of the Royal Navy for centuries)there are displays of famous ships from the history of sea warfare. In 1545 Henry VIII's flagship the 'Mary Rose sank before his eyes in Portsmouth Harbour on its way to fight the French. It was recovered from the seabed in 1982 and now you can see her for yourself at the Historic Dockyard .The oldest commissioned warship in the world HMS Victory the flagship of Lord Nelson is open for tours you can even see the spot where Nelson died. The Dockyard is also home to HMS Warrior, The Royal Naval Museum, the Dockyard Apprentice Exhibition and Action Stations.
From the Seafront in Southsea you can walk along the Millennium path which takes you around Old Portsmouth and its fishing port, along to Gunwharf Quays where the old and the new come together. You can shop at over 85 designer outlets, eat at one of 20 or so bars and restaurants, or go to the cinema.

Navy Days at Portsmouth Naval Base will feature serving warships from the Royal Navy, as well as foreign navies, alongside the famous historic ships and attractions of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
A brilliant day out for all the family is guaranteed with a chance to go aboard and see behind the scenes of modern warships, marvel at the spectacle of naval demonstrations and displays in the harbour, in the air and on the dockside, and experience 800 years of fascinating history with re-enactments on iconic vessels HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860.
